The dream day foundation
MISSION STATEMENT
Empowering youth of today with the tools needed to reach their full potential in the areas of education, economic, and social growth through talent, scholarship, service and cultural awareness.
The Dream Day Foundation is a 501 ( c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in 2009 by founder and Executive Director Marion A. Sankey. Her vision for this foundation is to be a beacon of light in Lee County and surrounding areas for all citizens with a focus on our young people. This is a foundation for the people and with the people. Our purpose is to cultivate the next generation of innovators, leaders, and change-makers through the arts and service.
Each year, we proudly hold the Annual Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Celebration. This event reminds young people of the struggles others faced for their rights. It honors the hard work and sacrifices of Dr. King and other civil rights leaders. While we celebrate our history and progress, we recognize there is still more work ahead.
We serve the community with our Dream Acts. Every year, we help people in need, like families affected by fire or those with medical bills. Since 2014, we have given scholarships to seniors who want to keep studying. Thanks to the kindness of Lee County residents, we can continue this support.
The foundation guides young people to solve problems, lead, and reach their dreams. We honor those who fought injustice and celebrate role models who have helped our community.
