Dream Day Founder

Marion A. Sankey is a lifelong teacher and community leader dedicated to helping young people and enriching culture in Lee County, Alabama. With over 40 years in education, she has worked to support students and involve the community.

In 2009, Marion started the Dream Day Foundation, a nonprofit that helps young people become future leaders and innovators through arts and service. The foundation aims to give youth the tools they need to succeed in school, work, and life.

After graduating from Winthrop College, Marion taught in schools in North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. She later worked as a reading specialist in the Read 180 program and was honored as the Read 180 National Teacher of the Year in 2018.

Even after retiring, Marion stays active in her community through the foundation and local projects. Her strong commitment to youth, education, and community service has made a positive impact in Lee County and beyond.
