Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration
The 26th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, presented by the Dream Day Foundation, an inspiring event took place on Monday, January 20th, starting at 11 a.m. at the Opelika Performing Arts Center, located at 1700 Lafayette Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801. The celebration proved to be a memorable occasion, especially with the special participation of the Tuskegee Band, who joined us for this important day.
Teen Summit
On June 19th, the Dream Day Foundation hosted the Teen Summit and 4th Annual Back to School Bash, bringing together youth from across Lee County for a day of empowerment, connection, and celebration. The event welcomed teens ages 12–19 and featured dynamic speakers, engaging workshops, free school supplies, food, music, and interactive activities designed to prepare students for a successful school year. Thank you to all who participated in making this impactful day a success!
Black Male Summit
The 7th Annual Black Male Summit was a powerful gathering of purpose and brotherhood, bringing together men and young males—from grades 6 through college—on a mission to uplift and inspire. Held with a call to action to “be part of the solution,” this impactful event united fathers, sons, mentors, and leaders from across the community. Attendees heard from dynamic presenters including Opelika native and California-based actor Jock McKissic and influential podcaster Chase Anderson, who delivered messages centered on growth, responsibility, and generational impact. From inspiring conversations to giveaways and community connection, this year’s summit was a bold reminder of the power of unity and mentorship. Thank you to all who showed up, supported, and brought the next generation with them!
